My friend got his new toy, Canon 5D2 which makes me envy!!
Last weekend, I had a chance to test it, first hands-on experience on this Canon’s new full frame camera and I have one word to describe it… AWESOME!
As usual, my kids have no option but to model for me…

Finally, I finished (almost) my sister’s wedding shoot in the Philippines as I mentioned on my previous blog entry! My trip was a bit challenging, and took me almost 4 days including an overnight stay in Japan because of canceled and delayed flights.
Instead of being there on a Thursday night with enough time to take some some rest for the Saturday’s wedding, i arrived on Friday afternoon in Manila with another 8-10 hours bus trip going to our province.
After almost 4 days of air and land travel, I finally arrived in our house on a Saturday morning for a wedding at 2:00 pm. Tired, hungry and excited, i forgot to get some needed rest and just enjoyed being with my family.
This wedding is memorable, my sister was the first to get married among four girls, with important people in our lives not on our side and at the same time I will be shooting this important occasion… I am not sure what to expect. Nevertheless, it was a very nice and emotional experience!

The proud father of the bride!

Brides family…my family, except my other brother who after stalling his assignment as a seaman (he works as chief cook) for a year, was told that he needs to leave 2 days before my sisters wedding…

Emotional first dance between father and bride (my sister).

I can’t believe how big the bill boards are in the main street of Metro Manila!

A picture of a refined Gold from my brother’s mill, this small piece of gold costs PHP 53,000 ($1,100)!

Wow! what a vacation… it’s always good spending wonderful moments with family and friends, always cherish those moments! Too bad it’s over, but the good part is, its another year, a new start.. always hoping for the best, always thankful for He is good!
To start a new year I had to post something, although from last year’s wedding since its off season i had to save some

Some of the pics here are posted from my last blog entry about my new 35L lens, the rest of the highlights can be seen here.
Yes, few days from now we’re going to celebrate a wonderful event happened 2000 years ago. Although for some it seems it has lost its meaning, for me it has the same feeling of excitement, feeling of something that’s makes you smile and hope. No matter how you celebrate it, ours is still the same, celebrating the true meaning of Christmas. For Jesus is still the reason for this season.
Just sharing some of our pictures preparing our Christmas tree. Looking at those ornaments that our kids made during their early school years is fascinating as well… they grow fast!

Prime lens rock! This was the first bride and groom preparation that i haven’t used my flash.. that’s right i shoot using available lights. This wasn’t possible without my prime lens (this is not the 35L that I bragged about here though, just the normal 28mm and 50mm f/1.8)
Also, can you guess where I took the groom prep shot? Yes, its inside the church
turns out pretty good still.

Rest of the wedding highlights is here.
Traveling to New York is always a challenge; finding the hotel where our bride is preparing was our challenge on this wedding. We can see the hotel, we passed it 2 or 3 times but we can’t find the way to get there… we’re so near and yet so far
Even the GPS was unable to help us find our way.
Nevertheless, its a very nice wedding, the couple was very fun and easy to work with. Please enjoy the photos!

Rest of the wedding highlights is here.

After much thought and testing some prime lens, and knowing that lot of new opportunities are coming in, i decided to bring my gear to the next level. I purchased the highly rated Canon 35 L f/1.4 in time for last Saturday’s wedding of Jennifer & Nathaniel, and all i can say is WOW! We took some creative shots in the reception venues dark garden using off camera flash and my new lens; i am very pleased with the result.. I’m in love with my new lens!
here’s some of them, enjoy!
